Adam D. Smith was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, in 1987. Growing up in Bridgewater, MA, Smith developed an early interest in the arts and literature when his aunt and uncle introduced him to poetry when he was still very young. As the years progressed, his Christmas stocking went from housing picture books of The Raven to the collected works of Arthur Rimbaud, anthologies and other works.
Smith holds a BFA in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry from Johnson State College in Johnson, VT, where he was the editor-in-chief of the college's student-run literary journal, The Gihon River Review, organizer of the Student Reading Series, and 2009 Roger Rath / Mark Cavanaugh Award Winner. He has also served as a reader for Green Mountains Review Vol. XXIII No. I.
In May 2010, Smith spent two weeks in residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT, as part of a fellowship award from Johnson State College. He will return to the VSC for four weeks in April 2011 under a separate fellowship.
His work has appeared or is forthcoming in: Galatea Resurrect, Anti-, Prairie Margins, Nuthouse and others. He currently resides in Brockton, MA, and is enrolled in the MFA program in Poetry at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Numismatics - the science and study of money. Sometimes referenced as "the hobby of kings," people of all walks of life have collected coins, medals, tokens, script, currency and othe like items.
Beginning with a silver dollar left by the tooth fairy when he was only five ot six years old, Adam D Smith has become an avid collector and researcher of coins and medals.
In early 2009, having previously specialized in 20th Century silver dollars, Smith felt that everything which could be discovered or written about American coinage had already been done and, seeking a way to utilize his passions for numismatics and writing, decided that medals, specificially French, Portuguese, and ones depicting poets, would be his next endevour.
